Kid’s Crafts

We had someone ask if we could teach a kid’s craft class.  Lu did that for a semester in Utah so we said yes! Here are a couple of the things we came up with!

We have some more ideas and will post them as soon as we get the sample done!!!

If anyone is interested in having their child come to a class the cost is $10.00  and includes all supplies! With the space we have currently, we could have 4-6 kids per class! Just shot us an email if you are interested and we will get some scheduled!

Thanks for stopping by our blog!

This Week -Watercolor and Dremel tooling for Christmas

Sorry that it is so late in the week that I am getting to this. I was trying to actually finish something!! That didn’t happen! It seems like it has been a busy week but I can’t figure with what! So I will just show you some of the practice stuff I have done.

I want to play with watercolors some more so I did these flowers. They aren’t done as I want them yet, they need some highlights and I am still trying to figure that out.0930161019c1

I really want to do this thing with Christmas ornaments and a Dremel tool. I figured out I need to draw on the shapes I want first and then use the Dremel. I’m not good enough to freehand it. And then it is going to take some more practice!! But here is a peek at the attempt!!09301610201

Simple Step Card

Front ViewSide View

Today I just made a simple step card! They can be a lot more elaborate than this one, but today I went for simple. There are a lot of tutorials out there for these kinds of cards, I have just not ever made one and I’m betting a lot of you haven’t too! It can look intimidating! But I have to say that a good tutorial and it makes it seem easy. If you want to make one I’d be happy to Skype with you and walk you through it step by step!!

Have a great, creative week!!!

Watercolor Card

0831160925[1]

I tried a technique that I saw with embossing and watercolors. I’m not very good at watercolors! But here is the idea.

You emboss the paper and then draw over the raised parts with a crayon and then the watercolor doesn’t go past that. I did a couple of different color crayons so you could see.

I’m sorry I am doing mostly paper crafts but that is the stuff I have unpacked! Lol.  We are signing the papers Friday for a piece of land, but it still will be some time before we get a house and space for me to unpack everything. So please bear with us!! I am working on my red 3 wreath project and I am getting to the point I can see it being done soon. So maybe I will post an update to that later!!!

Thanks for reading my blog!!!

Star Explosion Card

This week I wanted to try a new folded card. So I tried this star explosion one. The instructions were a little confusing for me, but I think it still turned out cute! I am going to try a couple more so I can see if I can get it a little easier and a little more straight!! I’ll keep posting as I do!

I hope you are enjoying seeing what I am working on each week!

Easel Card

0712161026[1]0712161027b[1]

Easel cards have been around for a long time but I decided to make one for a friend today. They are very simple and can be made in a variety of sizes. They take no special tools and work up super fast. Mine today is a 5×5 size.

So simple instructions: One piece of cardstock cut 5×10 (that is finished size one direction and twice finished size the other direction. This is pretty much the rule for all cards.) Fold it in half so you have the 5×5 square. Then take the top of the card and fold it in half again, so the edge meets up with your previous fold. Now take another piece of paper (mine was the light blue chevron) and cut it to size. If you want it to cover the whole front it is 5×5. Glue this piece to the bottom section of the front of the card. The only thing left to do is add something to the inside so that it holds the easel part in place, I used a flower. The rest of the card is just adding what you like to complete the look. Mine is pretty simple, but I like the clean look.

Questions? Just let me know, I’d be happy to help!
