Well, this is the one project that actually came out ok and I am going to send it to the ladies for Super Saturday!! I’m a little nervous about it because I’m not sure about what they like in Missouri!! I hope they like it!

The blocks are the same just the other side!!

A Little Christmas

This week I have been trying some projects for my church group and they haven’t worked as well as I would like. But here are a couple of ideas for some easy, inexpensive ornaments! This last one is supposed to be a pine cone. I’m not sure it looks enough like one. I think maybe the paper is too patterned, or maybe I still don’t have the shape correct.  Anyway, I am trying one more thing this week and then will decide if and what to teach!!!

Have a great week and do something creative!!!

Watercolor Card

0831160925[1]

I tried a technique that I saw with embossing and watercolors. I’m not very good at watercolors! But here is the idea.

You emboss the paper and then draw over the raised parts with a crayon and then the watercolor doesn’t go past that. I did a couple of different color crayons so you could see.

I’m sorry I am doing mostly paper crafts but that is the stuff I have unpacked! Lol.  We are signing the papers Friday for a piece of land, but it still will be some time before we get a house and space for me to unpack everything. So please bear with us!! I am working on my red 3 wreath project and I am getting to the point I can see it being done soon. So maybe I will post an update to that later!!!

Thanks for reading my blog!!!

“You Make My Heart Smile” Card

This week I made this cute card! It is a simple card but fun to make and it has lots of places to write a note! I found these papers that I think match each other and then had the black pattern on the back! I’m not so good at figuring out how to get the paper cut the right way, so it took me a couple of tries. I’m sure that as I do more of them the cut will be easier to remember!

I’m also working on that 3 wreath thing I’ve had started for a long time. I’m trying to figure out the center part and will post pictures when I get that started!

Have a great, creative week!!!

Never-ending Card

This week I have had a couple of projects going. One is this basket form I bought cheap and then I wanted to give a never-ending card a try.

The basket is just a form and you get your own yarn or whatever to do it with. It was a little time consuming but I like the end result!

The never-ending card took a couple of tries to get right. You have to get the measurements right and straight and then the adhesive needs to be strong enough to hold. I have some cheaper tape runner that didn’t hold but then I used my CM and it held great. A never-ending card is a card that you can open to 4 different sides and then it repeats those sides as long as you keep folding. I have a lot of photos this week, I hope they show things clearly!

Star Explosion Card

This week I wanted to try a new folded card. So I tried this star explosion one. The instructions were a little confusing for me, but I think it still turned out cute! I am going to try a couple more so I can see if I can get it a little easier and a little more straight!! I’ll keep posting as I do!

I hope you are enjoying seeing what I am working on each week!

This Week

I’m not feeling very creative this week and everything I have tried has not gone well. My dad passed away this week and I think I am a little off. Please forgive me for not having something fun to show you. I’ll have something next week.

A fun card

This week I got a couple of new tools and so I’m just trying to learn how to use them. Some are die cuts that make cool things on cards and edges. And then I got a thing to help us take better pictures. I hope they both work out. So anyway it has taken me some time to figure some of this out. So here is just one simple card I made today! I’m sure I’ll have more to show you soon!!!

This Week’s Fun

0720161329[1]0720161331a[1]

I found some burlap I really like and have decided to make a 3 wreath set out of it but it is more time consuming than I expected. But I have posted a picture of it in progress! Also this week we found a pinwheel maker at a really good price and I can tell that it is going to be lots of fun to use for making party decor! I still am not adjusting to the heat and humidity here in Missouri yet so it seems like I just get started on something and have to go find a towel to wipe down!!! I know we will figure it out eventually!!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my blog!!!

Easel Card

0712161026[1]0712161027b[1]

Easel cards have been around for a long time but I decided to make one for a friend today. They are very simple and can be made in a variety of sizes. They take no special tools and work up super fast. Mine today is a 5×5 size.

So simple instructions: One piece of cardstock cut 5×10 (that is finished size one direction and twice finished size the other direction. This is pretty much the rule for all cards.) Fold it in half so you have the 5×5 square. Then take the top of the card and fold it in half again, so the edge meets up with your previous fold. Now take another piece of paper (mine was the light blue chevron) and cut it to size. If you want it to cover the whole front it is 5×5. Glue this piece to the bottom section of the front of the card. The only thing left to do is add something to the inside so that it holds the easel part in place, I used a flower. The rest of the card is just adding what you like to complete the look. Mine is pretty simple, but I like the clean look.

Questions? Just let me know, I’d be happy to help!
