Some kits will include extra pieces so you can choose which one to use.

Separate the wood pieces from each other. This is most easily done by slightly twisting the piece and pulling it off.

Scrap of the white pop-up that was holding the wood together on both pieces. I usually do this with my fingernail, but you could use a scrapper. (Hint: There are more pop-ups on some sides of the wood than on other sides. This can help you know which side is the top, where the paper should go.)

Optional: You can take a damp cloth and wipe the edges of the wood off so that you don’t get black on your hands or project.

Before you start to glue a piece, align it with the corresponding paper. They are cut to fit exactly. If they aren’t fitting exactly, try turning the paper and/or the wood piece around.

Start by gluing the larger pieces first. This allows them time to dry before you are ready to glue the other pieces to them. Only a thin coat of glue is required to adhere the paper. Make sure you get the edges. Too much glue will make your paper wet and could cause the paper to wrinkle. Smooth the paper down with your hands and/or a brayer tool. Continue by gluing the smaller pieces.

Now it’s time to put things together!!! Again, start with the larger pieces and work your way up to the smallest. When you are doing the title block, I have found that starting from both ends and making those letters even from their respective edge, then doing the middle letter and continuing to work, filling in the rest keeps my spacing more even.

When working with the non-paper embellishments, try to apply the glue to the paper and then set your embellishment onto the glue.

Let dry and then apply the magnets to the backs. Each piece uses 1 magnet, except the title, which uses 2.

Let your project lie flat for 24 hours to ensure everything is dry before hanging it.

Access to a picture of the finished project can be found at: https://inspirlutions.com/wp/category/shadowbox/

On some projects, I used Glossy Accents (not included) to make some of the pieces shiny. I just followed the directions on the bottle. I purchased it on Amazon, here’s a link:

You will need approximately 2-4 oz. of wood glue that dries clear.
